German Baptism: Adolph Otto 1833
« on: Thursday 14 December 17 21:28 GMT (UK) »
Merry Christmas All!
I'm asking Saint Nicholas for a special present this year-a tranlation of this bap. record from Eisfeld, Saxony. I've gotten some help. Here's what I think is on their:
Johann Adolph Otto.
born 1 Jul 1833.
Father: Christian (?)
Mother: Elizabeth Heinlein
Bap: 12 Jul

Any more info gleaned would be mightily appreciated.
Thanks!

Dave,
Thanks a million for this! I was wondering about "allhier." Thanks for clearing it up.

Dave,
One more question, if I may. There seems to be a word that looks like "spur." in the same box as Adolph's name. Any idea what that could be?
Thanks.

Hi Steve
That one got me ???

Had to ask around a bit. Got there in the end.

spur.[ius] = unehelicher Sohn -  illegitimate son

Wow!
That's very interesting. When Adolph was 12, he and his mother came to the U.S. without his father. I always wondered why. You just cleared that up!
Thanks for everything, Dave. You've been a great help.
