Arnold Adamson Wragg
« on: Friday 15 December 17 23:49 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to locate relatives of, or information on Arnold Adamson Wragg born in Sheffield 24.2.1896
He must have travelled to NZ at some stage and possibly married Isabel Mary McGrath in 1927
He was a hardware merchant (I have found Arnold Wragg Ltd already).
Travelled back to UK (possibly) on 18 April 1940 via Oceanic Steamship Company

I have found old documents, letters and a passport and would love to track down family.
Relatives mentioned were Norman Wragg, Evie, Peter.

Thank you both - this is great info!
I've been reading through the 'love letters' and it seems possible they may have been to Isobel from someone other than Arnold. All signed Ted.
Could Isobel have been having an affair with Arnolds brother Edward (Ted?)? These letters are interesting - Isobel (Lady Belle in the letters) and Ted can't be together, but seem to be connected by family in some way, as they are able to see each other without people becoming suspicious.

How exciting heidia  :)  So wonderful to have the love letters.

I love a romance/intrigue.  Is there any date on the letters?  I looked on NZ papers past to see if there was any mention of Edward/Ted WRAGG but haven't found any.   Nor could I find a mention of a divorce on NZ archives http://archives.govt.nz/.   Do you think the possible affair occurred back in England?

Really interesting! I'm not sure, the envelopes were addressed to NZ addresses so possibly not.
Current info:
Arnold & Isobel had a son Peter Arnold Bernard Wragg (13 Knight Ave, Mt Albert)
He was married to Kathleen Wragg

Peter and Kathleen had a son, John Bernard Wragg of 33 Willcott St, Mt Albert
