Eastern Daily Press archives?
« on: Saturday 16 December 17 14:03 GMT (UK) »
As some people may already know the EDP is in the BNA;

https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/titles/eastern-daily-press

Years: 1870-1876, 1878-1891, 1896, 1899, 1901-1909

But in the EDP today I saw this announcement:

"Archant launches Local Recall project to digitise 150 years of newspaper archives after Google grant"

http://www.eadt.co.uk/business/archant-launches-local-recall-project-to-digitise-150-years-of-newspaper-archives-after-google-grant-1-5323145

which will be some kind of voice interfaced (blech) interface.

Does this mean no more EDP pages will be released to the BNA? That would be a disaster.

The last thing I want is the EDP in a different archive to other East Anglian papers, so that I have to repeat all my searches across two archives.

The BNA works from the British Library copies of the newspapers so I can't see BNA stopping digitising. In much the same way there's duplication between BNA and the National Library of Wales in digitising Welsh newspapers.
However the EDP is likely to be working on more recent editions than the BNA.....
