Marjorie Joan Beer 1924-1986

Good morning Rootschatters,

I am trying to identify the parents of Marjorie Joan Beer who was born on 13 Dec 1924 in West Ham.

Her mother's maiden name was Hall.

She married John Laurence Cazalet Blois in 1951 also in West Ham. In the 1958 phone book, they are living in Barkingside but by 1971 they were living in Rayleigh (phone book). She died in September 1986 in Southend-on-Sea. John lived on until 2003.

I know of one daughter born in 1953.

I have lots of info on the Blois connection but the Beers and Halls are proving elusive.

Any help will, as always, be greatly appreciated.

Marjorie D Blois (Reeve), living in West Ham C.B., Essex
with
Frederick J Reeve, born 1877
Jessie J Reeve, born 1884

But the only way to be sure would be to get her birth certificate.

There are several Beer/Hall marriages in Totnes, but as Marjorie was born in West Ham, I didn't think they were that likely.

Really, to make absolutely certain, Malcolm needs to get her birth certificate, otherwise he could follow the wrong family. GRO are doing the certificates on line for £6 at the moment.

Looks like another complicated one!

So, Marjorie Reeves from 1939 is really Marjorie Beer? If I'm following this correctly, Frederick Beer who married Jessie Hall changed his name to Reeves and then changed it back again? 

ADDED: Problem solved! It is a bad transcription and the name is not Reeves but Beer!
