Ruth Pearson or Ramsey Milton, Glasgow1901. Where did she do?
« on: Sunday 17 December 17 17:51 GMT (UK) »
I really stuck with this one. Ruth and Joseph Ramsey are married in 1866 in Leeds. They moved up to Scotland, with their sizeable family sometime between 1885 and when they appear on the scottish census in 1891 in St Rollox

In 1901 they are on the census again in Ann Street, Milton. She's 53 and he's 57. Three years later he dies. She still alive and signed his death cert.  From this point on I can find no trace of her. Ive tried all variations of spelling her surname, I've used her maiden name and searched marriages in case she got married again...nothing. Her maiden name is Pearson

Ive searched ancestry to see if she returned to Leeds...nothing

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try a better web site.

FreeBMD lists a death of a Ruth Ramsey, aged 80, in Leeds in 1929.

In the 1911 census

Robert Holmes and Ruth Ramsey were married in Hunslet in 1909.

So it does rather look as if Ruth did return to Leeds.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Order it from https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/

You'll need the reference Deaths, Mar 1929, Ruth Ramsey, 80, Leeds North, Vol 9b, page 851
