Can't find David Moncur HENDERSON after 1881 - COMPLETED
« on: Monday 18 December 17 02:05 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help me find what became of David Moncur HENDERSON, born 7 August 1871 in Dundee, the son of John Henderson and Ann Kirkwood.

In 1881 he's living with his family at 34 Seafield Rd, Liff & Benvie.

He's possibly the billiardmarker in the 1891 and 1901 censuses in St Clement Dundee but I can't think of any way to verify he's the right one.

Am I on a wild goose chase?

Jan

Found him! In the 1939 Register living in Newcastle Upon Tyne with wife Annie, nee Knowles. Died Dec qtr 1941 Newcastle as David Moneur Henderson.

I've never used the 1939 Register before - brilliant that you can enter a birth date to narrow down the possibilities.

Hi Jan ,

There's a marriage in Newcastle 3rd quarter 1917 for a David Henderson / Annie Knowles.
Wonder if that's a second marriage  :-\

Thanks Ev, you could be right. David was 46 when he married and Annie 37 (1939 register has her birth year as 1880) More to follow up here. I did wonder too if he was involved in WW1.
