Looking for any information on the birth for Leopold Mirbach abt 1810
We have written and the reply is
Quote
I received your request. At the city Königswinter there are documents only from the year 1810.

Unfortunately, older documents are not available in my archive.

In the later years (1810 to 1869) could also no certificate for a marriage Mirbach / Thomas

being found.

A birth Leopold Mirbach has not been recorded in the said period.

I regret not being able to make a positive message.

Hoping someone can help  :)

Hello,

Was Leopold a Protestant or a Catholic? Most likely, the former.

Protestant parish records (Kirchenbücher) of Königswinter are held in the archives of the Erzbistum Köln (http://www.erzbistum-koeln.de/kultur_und_bildung/historisches-archiv/kirchenbuecher/).

Catholic parish records will be held in a different archive.

As Herr Ruttert said, the town is Königswinter (I would hesitate to call it a city: almost a suburb of Bonn).  Not sure it was a good idea to run his letter through the googly translator, which turned it into King Winter!

Hello Elan,
well you won't find Leopold's birth in Germany. As I said he was born in Paris (as written on his death act), aged 54 ,he died in Paris 26 september 1863, husband of Alphonsine Catherine Frossard, son of Pierre MIRBACH and Catherine THOMAS his wife , living in Frépillon.
He had 2 brothers : Alphonse born around 1820 Paris, died 15 july 1833 Paris, and Leon born 1825 in Sevran and died 28 december 1832 in Frépillon.
His father Pierre Leopold Mirbach was born 18 july 1785 in Konigswinter duché de Berg , he died in Frépillon 31 december 1866 son of the late Jean Henri Mirbach and the late Marie Anne.Schmitz. This Pierre Leopold Mirbach had a brother (or a cousin, according to the veracity of his mother's forename) called Jean Pierre born 11 july 1787 in Sierdorff, departement de la Roer, made prisoner of war presumed dead in 1808.

Hello Elan,
Have you tried to ask for a lookup in the protestant registers for the Birth of a Peter Leopold Mirbach ( or Petrus Leopold(us)  and not Leopold ?

And have you tried to ask for a lookup in the catholic registers Kirchenbuch 1716 1809 ( Family Search) ?
genealogists.com can do it for a nominal charge apparently.
