COMPLETED Marriage in Edinburgh 1786
« on: Monday 18 December 17 10:04 GMT (UK) »
Hi.

I wondered if anyone knew where I can find a marriage in early 1786 in Edinburgh as I
can not seem to find it on Scotlandpeople.

What are the names of the people involved? Do you know what religious denomination they belonged to?
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Apparently they married in the wife's home.

COMPLETED.

Apparently they married in the wife's home.
That was the normal practice. Weddings in the church building were the exception rather than the rule at that time.

The fact that they were married in the bride's home has nothing to do with the record of the marriage not being on SP.

I have a sub to SP and there is no marriage noted on it.

Thank you for replying.
