Looking at the map the area they lived in seems to be at the meeting of 3 parishes and as they probably went to the nearest church I thought Gortahork worth a look.
I thought the names of that McKim/Cassidy couple were possibly Myles and Nano but wasn't sure.

The gaps in the parish registers of all 3 parishes maKe the search very difficult.

Hello,

I am fairly sure Daniel A McKim was my grandfather.  I know for a fact that his parents were Moses and Mary Cassidy.  I have an original letter (dated 1937) from Moses to the clerk in Mauch Chunk asking for information about his birth records.  I happen to have the letter because the clerk used the reverse side to respond.  I am also under the impression that Mosses was born there around the time of the Civil War.  He Father, Moses, decided to come back to Ireland rather than join the Union Army.  Moses returned to the U.S. and settled in Newport News, VA.  It was my impression that Daniel was raised there but moved to Gloucester & Camden to be in shipbuilding.  Daniel passed away November 5, 1959 or 1960 at the age of 68.  That would put his birth around 1890. It was my impression that Daniel was born in the U.S. but I could be wrong.  Also, he was Roman Catholic.  I welcome your comments
