Henry Armstrong help please!

I'm seeking help from anyone who would care to offer please! I'm fairly inexperienced in genealogy and have hit a brick wall with my 2nd great grandfather on one branch.

Henry ARMSTRONG Abt 1827-1896 married Margaret ROBSON 1830-1886 in Chollerton on 9th May 1854

I have their children, one of whom, Thomas Armstrong is my great grandfather, but I'm completely stuck on finding their families and parents.

Henry Armstrong was born in Higham Dykes, Ponteland and his father was William.

Margaret Robson was born in Birtley and her father was Thomas Robson.

Any pointers or help would be hugely appreciated please

Henry' baptism is on the FreeReg site - father William, mother Mary.

The only baptism I can find for a Margaret Robson in Birtley in 1829-1831 is

Margaret Robson 30 January 1830 Birtley, mother Margaret Robson, which implies an illegitimate birth.

Margaret Robson was born in Birtley and her father was Thomas Robson.

Do you have their marriage certificate? If so, does it have an occupation for her father Thomas Robson? That could help to narrow down the search in census returns/ baptism records.

I can see a Margaret Robson born c  1830, father Thomas, a mason, in Harraton in 1841. Harraton is not too far from Birtley.

Mary Robson's baptism is on familysearch.org and also on Findmypast.

oh, just thought, do you have anything that says she was born in Birtley, Co Durham or Birtley, Northumberland?

1861 shows Henry b Heigham Dykes and Margaret b Birtley.  Both birthplaces shown as Northumberland
