Hi Jon, agree but the that leaves the Sarah DREW 1720 baptism if Elizabeth 1720 is a DRUE from same John/Elizabeth?

Hi
I don't think those can be the same parents? There could be quite a few Drews (and Drues!) in Norfolk.

David, it's a settlement certificate, weren't they often given one when they left a parish to go somewhere else? I don't know if there was an examination.
The LDS have probably filmed it
Microfilm 8069186 includes
Swaffham Prior, Settlement certificates 1704-1834

But we can't see it at home, you could though on a computer at a Family History Centre, as it has been digitized.
The original will be at the archive.

My poor old eyes cannot make our the records from Swaffham

I'm sorry about that. You can zoom in using the plus sign in the top left corner, under "Image".  Make that baptism fill the whole screen!
John

Prerogative Court of Canterbury
Will of John Drew, Yeoman of Swaffham Prior, Cambridgeshire
16 November 1764

What's that all about? Right man, wrong man?
Burial there of a John Drue, Labourer, 25 Sep 1763

This certainly looks like the man who married Margaret Brown in 1751 in Swaffham Prior. And it also appears that he had been married before.

David, did your Elizabeth marry John Gilson in 1752?
In his will John Drew mentions his wife Margaret, his daughter Mary Drew, grandson John Gilson, granddaughter Susan Gilson.

Daughter Mary named as executrix.

John

Hi John

Yes Elizabeth married Jonathan Gilson and they had a daughter Susanna and a son John. Daughter Mary was born in 1732. Elizabeth Drew wife of John  buried Swaffham Prior 22/9/1737.

So your surmise was correct, but we still have the puzzle, which John & Elizabeth do we start with. I cannot see a John & Elizabeth transferring by settlement in 1720 being a Yeoman Farrmer
in 1763 and leaving a will

Kind Regards

David :D
