Hello David,

A look at the Fen Ditton Parish Registers confirms there is no Matthew Flanders born
between 1640 and 1660.

This period almost exactly coinciding with the Civil War and the Protectorate, can I ask whether there were significant gaps in the register?
Middlesex: KING,  MUMFORD, COOK, ROUSE, GOODALL, BROWN
Oxford: MATTHEWS, MOSS
Kent: SPOONER, THOMAS, KILLICK, COLLINS
Cambs: PRIGG, LEACH
Hants: FOSTER
Montgomery: BREES
Surrey: REEVE

Not that I can recall ....... I would usually make a note as they sometimes state the years
when no records were made.
