The General Cemetery, Valley Road, Hull
« on: Wednesday 20 December 17 18:23 GMT (UK) »
I am attempting to locate the grave of Augusta Matilda Winterbottom (Nee Fynney) who died in July 1865 aged 55 years and her granddaughter Ella Maud Depree who died 1891 age 14 years. We have correspondence that shows they are in the same plot at The General Cemetery, Valley Road, Hull.
Internet research seems to indicate that this cemetery is no longer in use and in a poor condition although some reference can be seen of recent restoration.
Does anyone know what the current situation is with this cemetery and where the grave records might be achieved?

Thanks. Boy Scout.

I checked the Hull Archives website and catalogue for the Hull General Cemetery.

http://www.hullhistorycentre.org.uk/home.aspx

http://catalogue.hullhistorycentre.org.uk/catalogue/C-DBC

The catalogue runs to 44 pages and includes details about the burial registers on page 16

Thanks to everyone who replied to this post, the information is most welcome and informative. Charles Lambert Depree was indeed Ella Maud's father.

I've just picked this up and will check the links to the catalogue.

Thanks again
