I doubt that George Hanson is his father. In the 1871 census when John is living with his mother and her husband George Hanson John is described as 'Son in Law' whereas the other children of the couple are noted as Son or daughter.

I quite agree.

If HANSON had been his father, John would have used that surname. :)
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Happy New Year Everybody,

I have just got the PDF certificate.

John Tuplin Wright, no father on birth and mother is Frances Wright.

So maybe when he got married he just made up a father using his names and then his step fathers name.
