Oh dear, an embarrassment of possibilities! Think I'll just leave her to stew for a bit as Molly. Thanks all.

Just to add to your list of possibilities: my cousin Molly was registered in the name of Mellany at birth.

My Grandma and her sister were named Emily and Dorothy respectively, otherwise known as Molly and Dolly. Happy Christmas.

Milly-Molly-Mandy was Millicent MARGARET Amanda.

(any one else remember Milly-Molly-Mandy books?)

I went to a cousin's funeral and was startled to find her sisters, down in my family tree as Martha and Bertha, were known as Molly and Betty, cb
Broadley (Lancs all dates and Halifax bef 1654)

And one of my granddaughters is called Molly - short for nothing, that's the name she was registered with  :D
