please can anyone give information on two people that have passed away, they are part of a dna match that comes up as 4th cousin.

Mary Teresa Dempsey from Auckland born in Ireland passed 2016.

Karen houlistan?/ hicks born 1962 passed in 2017 Also auckland

I would appreciate any information you can offer. I have never searched New Zealand before.

Do you have a year of birth for Mary Dempsey?
Karen's birth is too recent for her death to show on NZ BDM's

Just out of interest, tresario, how did you come up with these two ladies as possible matches?

Does it mean that they had previously had their DNA tested and it sits in a giant database somewhere?

There are no entries on NZ BDM in respect of a death for a Mary Teresa Dempsey between 1.1.2015 & 22.12.2017......

I have searched the NZ Herald newspaper for death notices for both ladies and also Memory tree with no luck,

This probably isn't the case here, but not everyone places a Death Notice, I guess with the price of placing one. I learnt of two deaths via Facebook.

Hello all
I have an ancestry account and this came up as a 4th cousin match. I have the match name available by private message as shes living. These are the only two names in her tree. The younger one is her mom and the older her paternal grandmother. There is a possibility the karen hicks parents could be dad  houlistan mom hoffman, but as i said its just off a tree.
