I think I would try to find the nearest churchyard and start there, or a surrounding parish

My first task would be to narrow down the year of death for Thomas and Mary.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

I am looking, so far no luck, assuming she died between 1881 and 1891 but they could have moved or missed from census

Have you looked on family search, I do believe you have to log in now

Charlton Kings comes under Cheltenham, no joy unless his age on census is wrong ??

Using FreeBMD and the fact that Charlton Kings falls within the Cheltenham Registration District:

1890 - Thomas - aged 75
1887 - Mary - aged 81
1888 - Mary - aged 78

1881 Census Thomas is aged 61, and Mary is 60  :-\ :-\

So having found  possible deaths by Bumble I would search church registers

There is possibly 4 churches in the village
Holy Apostles C of E
St Mary C of E
Sacred Heart Roman Catholic
and I think there is also a Baptist church

It doesn't help that there is a gap in Charlton Kings parish registers 1874 - 1891 for burials - Ancestry.  Charlton Kings, St Mary doesn't begin until 1906.
