« on: Tuesday 26 December 17 10:47 GMT (UK) »
Good Morning All,

My Grandfather six times removed - Richard Wanley was born in Stainton in Cleveland in 1783, does anyone have access to the parish records in order that I may trace my family history back further than this date? any help would be much appreciated.    Thank you.

Best Regards from Geoff Wanley

There is a Richard Wanley baptised Stainton 27 April 1781 parents Richard, a Labourer, and Ann. Abode is either Malsby or Maltby, can't quite make it out from the image.

Stainton-in-Cleveland parish registers are online at FindMyPast, but their T&Cs don't allow look-ups on behalf of others. Many UK public libraries provide access to FindMyPast, which may be a way for you to get started before deciding if it's worth getting your own subscription.

Alternatively, a range of register transcriptions is available from the Cleveland Family History Society.
