Identity of Cap Badge please
« on: Wednesday 27 December 17 22:20 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Trying to ID this cap badge in the pic. Walter Nash who apparently was at Dunkirk. I think it is RASC but need confirmation. Sorry it is not a very good picture.

Looking at images online, you seem to be correct, but wait for confirmation from the military experts.

In your image you can just make out the gap below the letters in the central circular section. Compare with this one:

You could always purchase Walter's service record to see what he got up to.  :)

Hi Ruskie,

This is for a friend, I have suggested that she needs to send off, but I also know how long it takes.

Cheers

I'd agree with Ruskie - RASC.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,

Are you referring to the time taken to obtain the service record? If so, it used to take up to 12 months, but that time has been reduced over the past year or so, with some people receiving their service records within a couple of months. I don't know what the expected timings are at present. Don't let that put your friend off - I'm sure it will be worth the wait.  :)
