The father Edward Richards had died 1876, so I think this is the family 1880 Census still in Ozark, Dale County Alabama

Ann Richards 53 born NC
Martha  18 born Al  parents born TN/NC
Laura 13 born Al parents born TN/NC

His wife is EA in 1870 so possibly Elizabeth Ann Richards nee?

Thank you. I at least now have the widow Richards and her 2 single daughters in Ozark. I feel sure that Elizabeth Mooney was the girls mother. The confusion arises on the death certificate for Julius Vance Richards who died 09.05.1951, where it shows his mother as Elizabeth Parker.
Have found Julius V Richards in the 1880 census living with his brother and wife in Troy, Pike, Alabama.

Was he sentenced.

It would appear so. According to the article about application for a pardon I posted, he was convicted November 28, 1916 of 2nd degree murder.

This Julius V Richards is Julius's son Julius V Richards Jr who married Alma Potts and then eventually moves to Georgia after his 1st wife Alma died in 1920. He is listed as machinist in the records below.

Fascinating. Did he get a pardon.

I don't know. But when he did get out he moved to Louisiana and then eventually to Ohio where he died in 1951. He had children living in both places so that is who I assume he went to live with after he got out of prison.

His daughter Mrs. T. N. Evans was the informant on his Death certificate.

Just close the clipped article that someone else has saved and then you can pan over to the obit for Julius V. Richards. His obit is in the first column on the far left side of the page, about half way down.

Many thanks for the information. I had found Alma Potts who was married to Julius Vance Richards Jr.
I am now trying to find the connection between Helen Emily Pooley and Allie (nee Richards) Matthews.
Helen was born 02.01.1925 and married Major Dellmont Pooley. Helen was the niece of Allie Richards.

Thank you for all your help, which has now enabled me to put together a family tree.
Last question
I have Annie Richards born Alabama 1898 and her sister
Julia Richards, born Alabama 1901
One of the above married T.N.Evans & the other married B.W. Rogers
In 1951 both of the above were living in Akron

I have found Anne R Evans married to Thomas H Evans in the 1930 census, living in Akron. Not 100% sure this is Annie Richards ?
