I was wondering if anyone could help me piece my family tree together - I have traced it as far back as George Allely, born 1780, and his marriage to a Letty or Letitia Stewart - both of Clones, County Monaghan. It seems they had 7 children - one of whom, John Allely, born 1802 and died 1862 - is my great great great grandfather. If anyone has any information to help me elaborate my family tree, or at least point me in the right direction, I would be extremely grateful!

Thank you so much for the help, guys - that's given me a couple of new leads!
I seem to struggle to find any records or information predating around the turn of the 19th Century - is this because records weren't as thorough or have been lost?
