Did Howard give an address on his 1894 marriage record?  What were the witnesses' names?

Thanks, he looks possible, but since there seems to be no further connection with Emily Holmes or her illegitimate son Howard George, I'll leave him for now, especially as whether as Ramplin or Kamplin he disappears from records!!  It's possible, but unprovable that he is Howard's father.

Would still love to find Emily and/or Howard between 1870 and 1900.
  • Emily Holmes, b 1843 Fressingfield, Suffolk  (mother)
  • Howard George Holmes b 1869, Pancras London (child)

Pam

Could you please give details as to where you have them in 1901

You are all amazing - thank you.  I have been out this morning, and get back to find all this, can't imagine how I didn't find it!

Now need to absorb it.  There was a family story from the 1940's (always the best background to FH research) that Howard 'got all the money' that obviously others felt he didn't deserve.

I have tracked down the reasons why this might have been people's opinions, and in doing so uncovered the mystery of his birth and inheritance.  I have been intrigued by his story and you have all given me more assistance...

Thanks again.

Pam

I am feeling really stupid, I have spent 1/2 hr searching on Ancestry for this record without success...  I'm sure she is the right one....

I like the one in 1881, but where is her son? ...

If you are using Ancestry, search for her in 1891 as Emily Holmer.
