From a 1936 auction notice the hotel is described:
" THE FINTRACH HOTEL, 9 and 10. THE CRESCENT SOUTH ISLAND. A few yards of the fore-shore overlooking Spithead and the lsle of Wight containing 23 Bedrooms, 4 Bathrooms, 4 good sized Reception Rooms, Private Sitting-room, ample Domestic Offices. All main services. Central heating. Range of garages."
