could it possibly be poor spelling of Theophilus? without a "B" for Blakeney after it.  :-\

Theophilus was a family name

It could well be Theophilus, but there is a very large loop at the beginning of the 'T' (compare with the 'T' of Tuam at the top of the page).

I wonder if it is meant to be John B & Theophilus  :-\

I thought it might be Theophilus, before I saw any of the replies here - though it doesn't really look like -ilus at the end, so I wonder if it's actually Theoph B? It's hard to be totally sure with the lines of writing squashed up together.

I think the loop at the start of the T is just '+' ('and'). There's an identical one in the line above.
Researching among others:
Bartle, Bilton, Campbell, Craven, Emmott, Harcourt, Hirst, Kellet(t), Kennedy,
Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson

Thank you both for looking

It's a hard one that's for sure!  I shall have to just make a note as a "possible Theophilus".  I didn't have a Theo's for that particular family group but as mentioned earlier, it is a name used by the extended family.

many thanks for trying
