Gleazier (Banmore) & Jones (Kilduff)
« on: Friday 29 December 17 15:52 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for information on the Gleazier family of Banmore, Kilflynn and the Jones of Kilduff, Ballymacelliott in Kerry.

Gleazier
My 3rd Great Grandfather was Adam Gleazier (c. 1841-1886) who was a carpenter and farmer. His children were Henry (b. 1875), John (b. 1876), Elizabeth (1878-1948), Sarah (1882-1961), Adam (1884-1923), Abraham (b.1886) and Mary Jane (1886-1927). His father was Henry Gleazier who may have married an Eliza Poff from Flemby in 1835 in Ballymacelliott.

Adam married Margaret Jones in 1874 in Ballymacelliot.

Elizabeth Gleazier was my 2nd Great Grandmother and married Frank Beattie (1884-1959) from Noan, Ballingleragh co. Tipperary in 1907. They eventually settled in Ballinakill outside Waterford city.

Jones
My 3rd Great Grandmother was Margaret (Maggie) Jones (1846-1923) from Kilduff Ballymacelliott. Her father was John Jones and Mary Pollard (c. 1810-1891). Their other children were John (b. 1936), Maria (1844-1907), Jane (b. 1849) and Ellen (b.1853).

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

quote.... Just as important, we have factual evidence of the Glaziers, including the names and family-relations of William Glazierís brothers and nephews, recorded in the LEC as farmers in Tullig. On the basis of a short consult in the Genealogy Room, this gentleman found enough evidence to trace his ancestral family back to the early 1800s and earlier in Kerry, and possibly even back to Limerick before 1740.

Hi there, I'm a grandson of Sarah Gleazier, sister to your 2nd Great Grandmother Elizabeth. My father's name was Henry (Harry). I'm trying to piece together some family history which is very sparse. Your post is very useful to me and I've been to the grave in Ballinakill, Waterford where Elizabeth, her husband Frances and Sarah are buried. I would love to know more. Have you found any further information?
