Unknown Scottish location
« on: Saturday 30 December 17 10:18 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone identify the location on the attached photo. The photo dates to Victorian times and the only info on it is the pencilled wording, possibly added later, "Albert Buildings" on the reverse; An internet search failed to find a suitable match. I assume that the location is in Scotland as I acquired it with a batch of identifiably Scottish images.
Sinclair: Lanarkshire & Antrim; McDougall: Bute; Ramsay: Invernesshire; Thomson & Robertson: Perthshire; Brown: Argyll; Scott: Ayrshire: Duff: Fife.

Albert harbour Greenock possibly.

I've been looking at images around that area - and wondered if it was Greenock. I haven't found a similar image so far.

Sandra, I am actually Hamilton born and bred and although it was a great place to live sadly it wasn't at the seaside.

No I do realise that -  train of thought wandered while taking a rather "sad" phone call  :'(   Thanks.

Happy New Year or should I say Hogmanay.
