"Ao. Ci." abbreviations

Any ideas what looks like 'Ao. Ci' is on this? It's a brass plaque on a pew in a church.
There is more to it - I don't think the thing was necessarily written in 1667, but much later, naming all the people who had the pew.
'I Holland' was a John Holland.

The date is 1667, which was in the reign of Charles II.
So I would hazard a guess that Ao Ci is shorthand for A(nn)o (regni) C(arol)i (in the reign of King Charles)

I think I'm with Arthur on this one, given the church context, and the fact that there is no regnal year.

I was rather proud of my idea, but Arthur's is better

Like Bookbox said, I felt that if it was referring to the king, it would give some indication of which of his years it was. But I did mull over a few possibilities before Anno Christi hit me.
