Is there such a place in DUR

Hi All

I have been chasing a marriage in Durham for Nicholas WALKER about 1620-1635 the only one that I can find is not mine but it threw up a question.
In the records collected into the England Marriages 1538-1973 the record for a marriage of this man has he married Susan WILLIAMS on the 12th Nov 1624 at Stepney, Durham, England.

Has anybody ever heard of or seen a STEPNEY located in Durham ?
The only one I know of is in Middlesex.

The same marriage is listed on Anc - however the marriage place is listed as St Dunstan and All Saints, Stepney, Tower Hamlets, Middlesex   The image is online

The image did indeed attach.
I think it's fair to say that as the groom was from Wapping the location of Stepney would have been the one by the Thames.
Whoever transcribed (or catalogued) Durham must have had an off day!

Just for the record, there was a place in County Durham called Wapping.
