George's father John Phillips died circa 1829 (possible burial at All Hallows on 6 October 1829, age 62). There's a PCC will proved in 1830; quite lengthy, mentions beneficiaries under his father's will, his sister Elizabeth Turner, wife Catherine, son George. No other offspring mentioned as far as I can see on a quick read through.

Perhaps John Phillips was the "bro in law" ?

George's  grandfather (also named John Phillips) died circa 1807 and left a lengthy will which was proved in the PCC in 1808. On a quick read through only two children are mentioned: son John and daughter Elizabeth Hester.

Elizabeth Phillips married John Hester in 1796, and John Turner in 1807.
