Funny our Canon printer has stopped working too - have Word had an update that's affected it.  It states it's printing but it's not  :'(

Hi

Have you bought/installed anything (wi-fi-able) new recently?
New wifi tv / new s-k-y-box / new brennan b2 box / new NAS box?

Had family/friends/etc visit? ( and connected their laptop/ispud/tublet/zfone? )

If the recent piece of kit has grabbed the IPaddress that the printer has been using then it *printer) may now be "connected" (to now another ipaddress) but "disconnected" from the (assuming) laptop.

No nothing new here, adult grandchildren came but they didn't connect to the Wifi at all, they all had their 'phones out looking at old photos of each other as children but they weren't on line for that.

My OH has just spent about an hour and a half trying to get the printer to work without any luck.  He turned everything off and back on again and it worked for to print one piece of paper then it stopped again.  In desperation he even deleted the Canon program from his machine and tried to reinstall it from the disc he has, but even that failed.  Fortunately, it's still on my laptop, it just isn't working.  The machine is turned on but isn't responding to print instructions.

had a similar problem with daughters computer, and our printer this week.  Turned both off, completely, shut her computer down, and turned printer off from the wall.  Turned them both back on, and they were magically able to communicate again, and print her homework.... no idea what the problem was, both said that they were connected, and the printer was still connected to other devices, as was her computer!

In the end my OH had to re download the driver (I think that's what he said) and then reinstall the printer to both PCs, from the disc that came with it.  Now everything is working well.
