I do know that sometimes if a child died almost immediately after birth it is not registered as a birth but only a death, but saying that it is after 1875 when I believe all should have been registered

The banns have been altered to JANES at St George Bloomsbury, London

Definitely enough time for another in Ireland.  There could even have been a non-surviving twin of John Leonard.

You don't seem to have the birth registration of Frank - for the record it seems to be Frank James mmn Leonard, Sep qtr 1894 West Ham.

Thank you Louisa and avm, it seems this child will have to remain a mystery for now.  I checked Georges service record and other than a sort time in Egypt his service was all deemed 'at home'.
James -Victoria, Australia originally from Keynsham, Somerset.
Janes - Keynsham and Bristol area.
Heale/Hale - Keynsham, Somerset
Vincent - Illogan/Redruth, Cornwall.  Moved to Sculcoates, Yorkshire; Grass Valley, California; Timaru, New Zealand and Victoria, Australia.

It's always possible that they incorrectly put a stillbirth on the census, some people even named their dead children on the census (nice for some!).

What about a pre-marriage child? I've got one that added her illegitimate first child to the number of children of her marriage. It should be noted, however, that her estranged husband in a different household did not!

Interesting thoughts Ayashi.  In the 1881 census she was a servant in London so anything is possible.  I guess I may never be able to prove this child.  One of the joys of family history, chasing the Unknown.
