For "sister in law" to work in the modern sense:

Christina may have been married twice, the first time to someone named Cruikston. Hannah was that husband's sister.

The eldest Currie child shown was born when Christina was about 40, which leaves a good few years for an earlier marriage.

Looking at ALSTON in south Ribble area, ALSTEAD and DONBAVAND/DUNBABIN etc. everywhere, HOWCROFT and MARSH in Bolton and Westhoughton, PICKERING in the Whitehaven area.

Scotlandspeople have Hannah transcribed as Cruikstone. There are a few Cruikstone births in the OPR ( in Dalry). There are some cruickstons in the 1851 census in Bonhill, Dumbartonshire and some Cruickstones in the 1861 census in Tranent.

1841 census Barony St Luke's Lanrkshire
Alexander Currie 32
Christine Currie 30
Alexander Currie 8
Christian/ Christina Currie 6

Be wary of the age in 1851 perhaps it should be 50 and not 58

Need a marriage 1829-1832 between Alexander Currie and Christina
