Willcox Family, Bridgend
« on: Monday 01 January 18 20:34 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I am currently researching the Willcox (Wilcox, Wilcocks, Willcoxs) family tree branch. They have been in the Bridgend area since the mid 1800s. Virtually all of them worked in the coal mines.

Would anyone know what coal mine or mines they may have worked at if they lived in 'Sarn'?

Thankyou,
Happy New Year!

There were a few very close to Sarn all of which I believe had closed by the 1920's after that the most likely ones would be those in the 3 nearby valleys (which were numerous), I have seen a local map somewhere on line that shows all of them but unfortunately haven't got a link.
