I'm wondering if anyone else has come across a 'statutory' marriage anywhere in Scotland which gives no info. on the status of either party i.e. single or widowed?
If so where & when?
I'm trying to locate a family who 'seemingly' have descendants according to other researchers & possible census' info.
It's ongoing & I'm trying to piece all the info. together as & when affordable although it's a distant line so I'm in no desperate hurry but with no status' it kind of makes things a bit more of a problem although I'm pretty positive his wife (my relative) wasn't previously married nor have any illegitimate children but the Jury's out for now
Their marriage was 1857 i.e. any previous marriages would have been prior to Statutory records.
