Sophia Suxspeach b Clerkenwell abt 1814

I have my gggg grandmother Sophia Wright nee Suxspeach in my tree. According to various census entries she was born Clerkenwell and married to Richard Wright, a pavior/stonemason. I know her maiden name from the parish marriage record and my ggg grandmother's birth certificate.

I thought I had the right birth entry as the only Clerkenwell baptism record I can find is Sophia Suxspeach bap 27 June 1813, Clerkenwell St James, born 13 Nov 1812 to William (a carpenter) and Frances Suxspeach.
There are also siblings -
Frances bap 8 Jan 1809, St Andrews Holborn,
Amelia Margaret bap 20 Oct 1811 St Sepulchre,
Thomas William bap 14 May 1815 Clerkenwell,
Sidwell bap 15 Nov 1818.

I've found a marriage 9 June 1806 St Anne, Soho of William Suxspeach and Fanny Hawkins.

My Sophia and Richard Wright had a daughter, Frances Hawkins Wright, listed as Fanny on 1851 census, in 1849 and baptised at St John's Hoxton which made me think this was the right family and the girl was named for her grandmother.

All of the Suxspeach children - Frances, Amelia, Sophia, Thomas and Sidwell - were together admitted to the workhouse in 1823 in Camden St Giles in the Fields and then seem to be in and out over the next few years.

What's confused me is a death for Sophia Suxpeach age 27 in Mar Qtr 1838, Shoreditch 2 / 348 which seems to be Sophia Suxpeach who died in the same workhouse age 27 on 2nd June 1838 and was buried 6th June 1838. It's a slightly different spelling and I can't find any siblings in the workhouse at the same time so should I assume this is a different Sophia Suxpeach? I can't find a baptism to show there were 2 Sophia Suxspeach/Suxpeach of the same age from the same area. I want to believe I've found the right family but should I discount her and keep searching?

Unusual surname so to have 2 Sophia's is puzzling.  She could have been the wife of a Suxpeach although I can't find a marriage to support that

You could buy a copy of the 1838 death cert but as she died in the WH it may not give sufficient info to get you anywhere

Hi there - it looks pretty clear there were two Sophias, as one embarked on a long marriage to Richard Wright in 1837 (frustratingly on 19 June, just a couple of weeks before the introduction of civil registration would have put her paternal details on her marriage entry) and the other died in 1838.

With the naming of a daughter as Frances Hawkins Wright, I'd consider it a fair inference that Sophia daughter of Frances nee Hawkins is the one who became Mrs Wright.

Thank you both for replying, that's a good idea Suxpeach might have been a married name as that hadn't occurred to me! I'll keep searching for a baptism or marriage to eliminate the other Sophia Suxpeach and try ordering the death cert in the hope it might have some info in it to rule her out. I never know how much evidence I need to be sure of an ancestor in my tree!

The WH record shows Sophia was admitted 23.5.1838 and died 2.6.1838.  No other info shown as to whether she was married or single
