I think that would be best re US board.

That marriage looks more like John Sheehan -Farmer to me.

The Cotter marriage shows Mary Lawton Walsh (widow) with a father Michael Lawton.

There is a baptism 23 December 1850 Carrigtohill with parents Ml Lawton and Cath. Twomy.
A possibility maybe.

Will have a look through the nli registers in carrigtohill to see if there is a Kate Lawton to same parents.  Kate named her children Michael & Katie so maybe a possibility. Tks for all your help  :)

Had a look at registers & found a baptism for a Cath Lawton Carrigtohil 23rd Dec 1850 same date as the baptism for Mary you found Parents Michael Lawton & Cath Twomey. I then found Mary Lawtons first marriage to Thomas Walsh n 1862 so not possible surely at 12yrs of age??

Sorry. I wasn’t clear. I was referring to the baptism of Cath Lawton that you have now found and just saying that Mary had a father Michael.

Hi,
My Great Grandfather was David Lawton (baptised 29-12-1841) of Ballyrichard, who married Ellen Lawton of Woodstock, they had seven children,
His sister Mary (baptised 1-4-1839) firstly married Thomas Walsh and had a daughter Margaret, she then married Thomas Cotter and had a son Michael.
His next sister Bridget (baptised 4-3-1865)married Patrick Wallace, Ballinabointra.
His third sister was Kate (baptised23-12-1850) who married John Sheehan.

Their parents were Michael Lawton (c.1819-1885) And Catherine Twomey (c.1820-1883)

Hope this is of help
