Richard Turnbull born 1834
« on: Wednesday 03 January 18 18:02 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I am looking for second marriage of Richard Turnbull born 1834/1835 Cramlington / Bedlington.
First marriage is to Eleanor Ternent (1837 - 1863) she dies 29/11/1863 during child birth.  Have 1871, 1881, 1891 and 1901 census which I am sure is the correct Richard Turnbull with wife Jane, but don't find a marriage.

Thanks
Catherine

Yes - Joseph born c 1872 and George born c1877.  On the GRO, I think her maiden name could be Moffatt (?) and there is a marriage in 1866 in Berwick, but it does not give the wife's details.

Berwick* marriage 1st quarter 1866, Richard Turnbull, on the same page is Jane Moffat.

The two births you mention have mother's maiden name Moffat and Moffit.

* I see Jane's birthplace in 1881 is given as Cornhill, which was in Berwick Reg. District.

Jane Moffat, Donaldson's Lodge.

There is a Jane Moffatt aged 20 living with her father Andrew and Mother Ellen and siblings at Donaldsons Lodge, Cornhill in 1861. See RG 9 / 3889/ 91 / 8
