marriages of Thomas PRECIOUS b1816 Wetherby
« on: Wednesday 03 January 18 22:34 GMT (UK) »
Hello Everyone  :D Happy New Year!

I am looking to find the details of the marriage/marriages of a Thomas Precious (Basket maker) born 1816 in Wetherby. On the 1851 census he is shown to be married to a lady named Ann living in Ripon but by the 1861 census he is married to a lady named Elizabeth.

He has 4 children according to the 1851 census. George born c1843, Thomas born c1849 and twin daughters Sarah and Ann born c1850.

I have found a marriage for a Thomas Precious to an Elizabeth Scruton in 1854 in Ripon.
I have also found a marriage for a Thomas Precious to an Ann Mawson on Sept 25th 1847 it shows his profession as Basketmaker and says he was a widower.
It looks as though he could have been married 3 times, but I have no idea who the first wife could have been.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you, Carrie xx

Again, using the GRO facility, Thomas, Sarah and Ann all have mother's maiden name of Mawson - I'm assuming that Hawson should be Mawson (Sarah's entry)  :-\
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
If you don't ask the question, you won't get an answer.
