History of Walston, Libberton, New Bigging, ect.
« on: Thursday 04 January 18 16:02 GMT (UK) »
I’m looking for the history of Walston, Libberton, New Bigging and areas surrounding.
I’ve found and thoroughly enjoy The Upper Ward of Lanarkshire Described and Delineated. The Archaeological and Historical Section by G. V. Irving. The Statistical and Topographical Section by A. Murray.
I’ve looked on Google for a similar title that will give me “time and place” history of the locations above but can’t seem to locate.
I’d love to find something so I can know my ancestors better. Thanks.

Try the parish articles in the Statistical Account of Scotland and New Statistical Account of Scotland. You can read them free of charge at http://stataccscot.edina.ac.uk/static/statacc/dist/home
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
