Can anyone help find Jemima

Where was Jemima in 1861 and 1871.

Thomas  Picton married Jemima Mulley in 1844,
1851  Gt Chaucer Street Liverpool.
 Martha Mulley  56 widow  keeper of shop
 Thos Picton  son in law 28 wheelright b Liverpool.
 Jemima Picton  dau 29
 Wm Mulley Picton  5
 Thos  Picton  3
 John Picton  2

30 May 1853 Thomas Litherland Picton baptised father Thomas wheelwight , mother Jemima. Abode Lark Lane, Toxteth.  He died in Sept qtr 1856.

Jemima is missing in 1861 but her husband and son are found.
1861 Toxteth
Thomas Picton married 38 wheelwright b Liverpool
John Picton son 12 apprentice papermaker 

14 May 1866  Thomas Picton died in the workhouse . He was a wheelwright. Sister Mary Ellen Picton was executrix of his will , (correct)

In 1871 Jemima Picton  is still missing
Death  Jemima Picton  aged   57. 1878  Dec qtr Liverpool.

Have you got a copy of his Will ? - Is Jemima mentioned in it?  It may give an idea of what the situation was between them.

Have you also got her death certificate to see where she died? It could be that she was in an institution.

Remember the census only shows where a person was on that particular night. Have you looked at relatives to see if Jemima was with them?

The 1861 census was 7 April. So if Martha was born the following December, Jemima can't have been far away!  ;)

Martha seems to be the last registered child.

She may have survived- there is a 20 yr old Martha Picton, born Liverpool, in service in Birkenhead in 1881.
