Hi eevee

Will refrain from adding lots of detail here because if you already have access to the trees online, then you'll see that a lot of work has already been done.   ;)

In the case of the BROWN family (of Eliza Emma) a book seems to have been written ?   ;)

The National Library of NZ have a copy - and if you google you'll find out where else it can be found.

"The BROWNs from Broadstairs" :    John T. BROWN and family come to New Zealand :
Date :  2011    from Wanganui
by Colin GIBBARD / Marion GIBBARD  / Laraine SOLE
242 pages    --      University of Waikato

I found this "tree" after I'd discovered the birth of "Eveline Ivy SEDCOLE" :

https://www.geni.com/people/William-Sedcole-Capt/6000000012977556041

If you click on the links, it should take you to the BROWN family as well (I think ?).

Incidentally, didn't mention Capt. William Joseph SEDCOLE earlier - but he and wife Margaret (WEST) were the parents of Capt. John SEDCOLE and Catherine BROWN (and others).   They both died at Wellington.
[NOTE:   At the moment a lot of Wellington-specific info re: early settlers is not able to be accessed because of the Rootsweb site being closed until further notice.   That's why I'm pointing you in the direction of the online trees as you may well find further details there.   ;)
I couldn't find the burials for William Joseph and Margaret SEDCOLE - maybe they are in a church grave yard ?

William Joseph SEDCOLE - died Wellington, NZ - 28 September 1880

Margaret (nee WEST)  SEDCOLE - died Wellington - 12 March 1867.

Both were "of Karori" where Wellington's largest cemetery is located - but there doesn't seem to be a record for them (that I can see ?)

The following is the Obituary for Elizabeth MALCOLM who was the older sister of Susannah SEDCOLE.
Just adding it for interests' sake as it gives a wee bit of background of the family.

. Yes there was a second marriage for Edward John after the death of Eliza. These wills do tie in other family members

When I looked earlier at the Will of Edward John BUNTING ahead of the link being posted here, I thought there was something rather "odd" in respect of "his" children named in the Will.   ???

The "daughter" Kathleen Mary BUNTING seems to have been born as "Kathleen Mary BIDDICK - 1911 reg. at Auckland" where her mother was residing.  [Fair enough, she's probably taken on her stepfather's name. ]
There is a death though for the "son" Edward John BUNTING" - which shows he was (apparently) born 10 October 1918 ???   [Edward John BUNTING senior was still married to Eliza Emma in 1918 ?]
Edward John BUNTING (snr) - Will was dated 17 August 1926 and he'd married Laura B. BIDDICK a few weeks before on 26 July 1926.   Eliza had died on 12 April 1926.
Seems a lot of action happening in several months in 1926. ???
Just simply curious about the dates .... and a "son" who shared his "father's" name being born in 1918 ?

PS :  Meant to add that link below gives info on Joseph Hooper BIDDICK and Laura Brokenshire BIDDICK  (nee HOOPER )  :

Thanks for all the info. I will work through it.
The trees crossed when Kathleen married the son of her half sister Evelyn, -Basil.
This indicated to me that either Evelyn was not the daughter of Edward or Kathleen was not the daughter of Edward as the relationship was too close.   Edward was still alive when this marriage took place. Edward had two families at the same time which must have known about each other.

A little more about Laura.......

The birth of her daughter in 1911 as mentioned by Lu.

1926/10296   Bunting   Kathleen Mary   Laura Brokenshire   Edward John

Death:

1937/14915   Bunting   Laura Brokenshire   68Y

Then there was mention of Edward Bunting's son, Edward John born 1918. Not impossible but in view of her age, was Laura his mother?

Minniehaha.

Just to clarify, the questions I posed earlier, have nothing whatever to do with Laura.
