Is it worth a look in Great Bentley, where there seem to have been some Arnolds? Not sure baptisms there at the relevant time have been transcribed anywhere.
John married Bessey there, but quite a way back in 1754.

Except for the John Arnold baptised prittlewell in 1782.

I did say dearth of rather than lack of. It is an interesting record though, as George and Ann appeared to have named their second son John but it could just be a coincidence.

Looking at the censuses there is a John Arnold in Prittlewell born c1801, Suffolk. I'm curious to know if nichbuket has traced this John to see if there's any possible connection to the John baptised in earlier years.

Yes his will lists George as a Carpenter, Builder and Victualler.  No I have not traced the John in Prittlewell at all. I had been strictly looking for Georges.

With regards to checking Great Bentley, I hadn't narrowed anything for sure down past 'Essex' so I was searching all areas.  Still I only could see the same that iluleah had found.

Thank you all again,
Nich

I checked Eastwood baptisms to find matches for those burials, but found none. I wonder if they were nonconformist? Couldn’t find anything on nonconformist bmd register though.
Also now checked Rayleigh, canewden, paglesham for George.
Jamiesons, Martins and McGonigals of Coleraine, Londonderry
and
Cullens, Grahams and Challenors of Dublin county and city.

That's a shame!

Even more so since John Arnold of Great Bentley was a Master Carpenter!
If George is not in the records as an apprentice, then possibly he was apprenticed to his own father?

If you're referring to the Eastwood burials I posted I think they largely align to the Rochford baptisms.

Also, the burial of George in 1838 that tallies with the will appears to be the son of George and Ann. In his will George refers to his wife Harriet and mother Ann. His age at burial also tallies with the baptism in Rochford in 1805 with parents George and Ann.
