Depends on the area given to the enumerator.....
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

I wonder if Mullartown and Mullerton is the same place. Mullartown is very close to Annalong.
Well Annalong is sort of in Mullartown, mostly in the neighbouring townland on the old maps but starting to spill over into Mullartown.

Plenty of variations in name.....

The census makes it look like it a part of Mullartown.

I said that backwards, should be Mullartown as part of Mullarton, ar not er

Mullarton isn't used in 1911,

Thank you all! This was perfect. Now I can go on to locating Charles Sr.'s birth.

Does anyone know where I can find the 1851 mullerton census online?  I have Jr's application for Ireland, Census Search Forms 1841, 1851 which tells me he was alive and what his mother's maiden name was (Henry and Margaret McConville) but that was in. I'm hoping the actual census will provide more info as civil records appear to only go back to 1864 online and church records for the group are lacking.

Again I appreciate all the help you offered putting me in the correct district name!

Surviving census fragments and substitutes for 1821-51 are a valuable, if limited, resource for the pre-Famine period.
