Fleming/Ross families of Magilligan
« on: Sunday 07 January 18 22:51 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for any information on Sarah Ross and her husband John Fleming's families. They married in 1839 in Magilligan. The Flemings were from Drumavally, and the Rosses were from Ballymullholland. John Fleming's father, William, was living in Liverpool at the time of John's marriage. John at the time of his marriage was living with his uncle, Conolly Fleming. Sarah was the youngest of 6 daughters of William Ross. I would like to know who Sarah and John's mothers were. Any help would be appreciated, Jayne

religion?
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

They were married by the Presbyterian minister in Sarah's parents' home. There is one church census and gravestones who mention some family names, but no surnames for the mothers.

Thanks. I've seen that they are there, but I can't find  them online at PRONI, so I presume you have to go in and pull them up, but if I'm wrong please tell me. I live in Canada, so have to research completely on line, Jayne

Magilligan Presbyterian records are on microfilm in the PRONI - I have attached a PDF with a list of their available church records on microfilm - it is fully word searchable.
