George Birch married Ethel Smith MacPate b 1891 in Q1 1916 Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.
Looking for clues as to what became of them?

Hi

What else do you know about either/both?

Freebmd only has her down as Ethel Macpate upon marriage.

Smith? Where did that come from?

I can see what you mean, Geoff - no deaths, no children, no remarriages.   They appear to vanish.

Checked in Scotland too as that is where Ethel was born but zilch.

Possibility, from s58roads' previous postings, that Ethel is from Londonderry  :-\

Thanks Bev, you may well be correct. Given this is the case where do I find them?

Some progress made on this case as follows:
George B Birch together with his wife Ethel (MacPate) and mother in law Margaret Trestrail (McPate) appear on the 1924 Register of Voters at 39, Abbotsford Place, Glasgow
George also appears on the 1930 Valuation Roll as a Tennant at 37, West Blackhall Street, Greenock.
In 1933 George is the Informant on the Death Certificate of his mother in law Margaret Trestrail who died at 37, West Blackhall Street Greenock.
Am now looking for birth and death details for George B Birch and the death of Ethel Birch (MacPate) which have eluded me so far.
