I have another mystery related to this initial query.
I have found extensive records for Mary Ann Suddes nee Armstrong born 5 Sep 1828 Chollerton, Northumberland, England and died 27 Jan 1911 Helena, Antrim, Michigan, US and her husband and descendants.
I have also found extensive records for her brother Benjamin Armstrong born 22 Nov 1819 Wark, Northumberland, England, died 21 Mar 1905 Alden, Antrim, Michigan plus his wife and descendants.
Information from the letter I have written by Mary Ann in 1884 to her brother Henry Armstrong back in Northumberland, indicated that as well as Benjamin Armstrong being out in Michigan with her, another brother WILLIAM ARMSTRONG, born 1822 in Higham Dykes, Ponteland, Northumberland, also went out to Helena / Spencer Creek, Antrim County, Michigan. He arrived with them July 1883.
This is all the information I have about him. I have failed to track him in England or Michigan. All I have is his baptism record confirming this brother did exist, and the letter indicating 'In July last, William suddenly came here. He has worked at coal ovens all his life so does not know anything about farm work but does the best he can'
Can anyone help identify him either in England from birth in 1822 to is arrival in Michigan in 1883 and thereafter?
I'm guessing he didn't stay long in Michigan, he doesn't appear on any searches I've done for there, or appear as deceased in the Armstrong family graves at Helena Township Cemetery. Perhaps he went elsewhere in North America or went home.
