I looked at Flaherty birth from 1864 to 1867 registered in Galway and there was none father Michael, Kilronan.

Oh dear ,that is dissapointing, I wonder if there is a chance ,he was never registered, .?Thank you for going to the trouble anyway,

Of course I think he was born before then ,and I think it was around 1855 ish

I was looking for a possible younger sibling.
There is always the possibility he wasn't from Kilronan but simply named it as the nearest town to where he lived, people often do that.

Yes of course that is quite possible , and this information is passed on to us ,from an elderly relative ,so maybe its not ,correct ,,

Since I wrote initial enquiry, I have since ,learnt ,Martin served in India, but cant find any army record for him by the time he married in 1888,he didn't list his occupation as a soldier ,so we presume he had left Army by then .any help would be greatly ,appreciated
