Hi,

Having a go at the first one:-

but the trouble you mention that George was in was the worst of all I think I see you sitting in (??) one of your own boys a prisoner at the bar to me it seems dreadful how could you stand it hope he will be a good boy & always keep good company & he a comfort to his father.

Doesn't seem to have gone in for any punctuation here.

The word appears to be Cort (Court)?

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

David

Thank you everyone.

sitting in court and prisoner at the bar make sense, I was really struggling with that

still not sure about the comment after 'if the strike affected you or is it a ??'

The rest is very helpful. Out of interest I have now been helped to identify the sender and recipient so the whole letter makes more sense now.

Robson (NBL ENGLAND); Armstrong (NBL ENGLAND);Richardson (NBL ENGLAND); Money (NFK & NBL ENGLAND); Gibson (NBL ENGLAND);
Swoish/Swash (NFK ENGLAND);Reed (NBL ENGLAND);
Watson (NBL ENGLAND); Church (NFK ENGLAND); Trobe/Trollop (NBL ENGLAND); Lowes (NBL ENGLAND);
Sherwood (NBL ENGLAND); Harrison (NBL ENGLAND)

"We often wondered if the strike af[f]ected you or is it a landsale you work at"
