Alfred William Higgins (cousin of Margaret) according to an online tree married 1921 in Carmarthan and then died in Poole dist 1965 -so it seems he retruned to the Dorset area

That's very interesting when I was young I visited a house in Poole that I believed belong to an aunt Wina and that might have been from the same family. I wonder if you have Alfred's wife's name to hand? Thank you again.

Florence and Ellen both used as first name.... is that likely to be correct? Poss Ellen shortened version of Florence. You have been incredibly helpful, thank you.
My dad has dementia and extremely unlikely to remember.

Big apologies - I have no idea why I keep putting Ellen Rowena -when ALL of the records state Florence Rowena!!!!

I think I must have been trying to remember the son's wifes name (Ellen) and just confused myself

This is probably totally irrelevant but I have "family tree" outlining my Dorset links  in the Stalbridge area. It is very much a  tree done from memory and family reminisence by an aged cousin of my father and who is no longer contactable. In this there is a marriage of an Olive Coombes to Arthur Higgins in 1918. Olive was the daughter of a Jenny and Harry Coombes but I cannot make the precise link to her parents, whether it was via George Parsons or her mother's West side. I have no details of Arthur Higginns other than a birth date of perhaps Dec 1880 and and a death in 1970.
Apologies in advance if this a complete red herring, but the names and dates seem to fit.
I will try and contact my brother who may have a bit more detail.
