William Thomas Pile

W T Pile was born in Devon UK and at some point, after a seagoing career, settled in Portland where he was mayor twice.  As far as I can see he died around 1901, unmarried and without issue. Any information on his life in Australia gratefully received.

William left £100  in his will to Portland Baptist Church in 1901 - he was 71 years old (source Trove).
